Brenda has over 25 years of professional experience in the public and private sector. She served as Commissioner in Margate and made history as the first female to be elected to the governing body. She worked hard and brought about many positive changes both fiscally and administratively, which helped the city hold the line on any municipal tax increases during her term.
Prior to serving as Commissioner, Brenda was the Assistant Director of the NJ Small Business Development Center, where she counseled individuals who were interested in starting a business or who had a business they wished to grow. This was rewarding work as it helped the client and it was good for economic development. Brenda also served as Director of Marketing and Tourism for South Jersey Cultural Alliance and was a local business owner in Margate and in Atlantic City. .
Her professional affiliations include serving on the Atlantic County Economic Advisory Board, the Atlantic County Tourism Advisory Board, NJ Travel Industry Association Board, Margate City Planning Board and Margate City Ethics Board. Brenda was inducted into the Atlantic County Women's Hall of Fame in 2013.
Community service is important to Brenda. She has been involved with many charitable organizations throughout the county including the American Cancer Society, RNS Cancer & Heart Fund, Charity League, American Association of University Women and serves as a Deacon at Margate Community Church.
Brenda is a graduate of Stockton University with a degree in Business and Business Law and attended LaSalle University, post grad for a non-profit management certification.
She lives in Margate with her husband John and their 12-year old daughter, Ellie.
